Privacy Policy
Effective October 13, 2026 · United States
How Monticello handles information submitted for digital astrology services and payments.
1. Information we collect
When you order, we collect your email address, selected service, the amount paid, order reference, transaction status and related customer-support correspondence. For preparing a personalized calendar, we may request your name or preferred name and birth date, birth time and birth location after checkout. Subscription records include subscription identifiers, renewal-payment status and cancellation records. Our hosting provider may process technical logs such as IP address, browser information, request timestamps and security events.
2. Why we use information
We use information to perform your requested service, contact you about missing details, email your calendar, manage recurring subscriptions and cancellations, handle refund requests, prevent fraud, maintain security, keep required transaction records and comply with applicable legal obligations. We do not use birth details to make eligibility decisions about employment, insurance, credit, housing or other consequential matters.
3. Payments and service providers
Payment processing and payment-method authentication are handled by PayPal and eligible wallet providers, under their own privacy policies. Monticello receives transaction confirmation and limited details required for fulfillment and recordkeeping; we do not store your full card number or PayPal password. Our web-hosting and email-service providers may process information as needed to operate the website and deliver digital products. We disclose only what is reasonably necessary for these purposes or as required by law.
4. Cookies, sessions and third-party technology
Checkout uses an essential, temporary session cookie for selection, anti-forgery protection and payment reconciliation. Security and hosting logs may also be generated. When you open the payment page, PayPal and eligible wallet components may use their own cookies or technologies under their respective policies. This version of Monticello does not intentionally include advertising pixels or behavioral advertising trackers; if we add optional analytics or marketing tools later, we will update this notice and implement any consent or opt-out controls required by law.
5. Sharing and sale of personal data
We share necessary information with payment processors, our hosting/email vendors and professional advisors as needed for payment, delivery, fraud prevention, customer support and compliance. We do not intentionally sell customers' birth details or use them for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information if legally required or in connection with a lawful business transfer, subject to applicable protections. Where state privacy law applies, any applicable rights to opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising remain available.
6. Storage, retention and protection
We retain order and subscription records for as long as necessary to provide services, handle disputes and refunds, and meet legal, tax, accounting and fraud-prevention obligations. Birth details and related correspondence should not be kept longer than needed for fulfillment and legitimate customer-support needs, subject to applicable retention obligations. We use reasonable access controls and measures appropriate to the information; no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security. Do not send Social Security numbers, financial passwords or medical records.
7. Your choices and privacy rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete personal information, subject to exceptions for completed transactions and legal retention requirements. Residents of certain U.S. states may also have rights to data portability, information about categories of disclosures, opt out of specific uses, appeal a denied request or receive non-discriminatory treatment for exercising rights. These rights depend on applicable law and the size and activities of the business. Email the address below with your request; we may verify your identity before disclosing or deleting data.
8. Subscription communications
If you subscribe, we use your email for order delivery, billing or subscription-status notices, refund communications and responses to questions. Operational emails are part of fulfilling the service. We do not treat purchase as consent to unrelated marketing. Any optional marketing campaign would have a separate opt-in or opt-out mechanism as legally required.
9. Children and international visitors
Monticello services are offered to adults age 18 and older and are not directed at children. Do not provide information about anyone under 18. This policy describes a U.S.-focused service; if offerings later expand internationally, additional disclosures and rights may apply.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy as practices, service providers or laws change. We will post an updated effective date and provide any additional notice required by law. For privacy questions and requests, contact us below.
